How To Change Group Name On Facebook - Facebook is in fact becoming more versatile as time passes, rather surprisingly. I think the only thing you certainly cannot change, the only thing that's simply locked into place as soon as you choose it, is a shortened URL shortcut.
Thankfully the group name isn't really because little category of permanent names, and it's not totally apparent ways to change it, but it can be done.
That's why you're here, right?!
To start, go to your group page on Facebook but do not click "Edit Settings" because it ain't what you desire. Instead look down the best side of the page. About a 3rd of the way down you'll see these options:.
Click on "Edit Group" and you'll see a lot of different options that you can customize, most importantly the group name:.
Let's zoom in a bit on that so you can see what it looks like:.
To change your Facebook group name, just click in the text box that has the current name and use ERASE, arrows and similar to alter the name to one that's better. For this presentation, I altered the group name from "Front Range Blog Writer Meetup: The Facebook Group" to simply "Front Range Blog Writer Meetup".
When you have actually set it correctly, click on "Conserve" at the bottom of the window and.
Done. Not too hard once you know where to click.
Confusingly, however, the page that includes the alert of the modification being accepted still has the old name showed:.
No worries. That's simply a caching problem: click on "Back to Group" and we see the correct name:.
Now we're done and it's validated.
I must point out that everyone in the group will see an upgrade notification that the name has actually been altered, however I can't picture that's a concern:.
