What Happens when I Deactivate My Facebook Account

What Happens When I Deactivate My Facebook Account, I returned house from a lovely afternoon stroll with Ryland to discover my Mac asking me to log in to Facebook. Amusing I believed, as I never generally log out. I tried to log in just to be greeted by 'Account Disabled'.

What Happens When I Deactivate My Facebook Account

I clicked through to see why:

Phony accounts are an offense of our Declaration of Rights and Duties. All accounts must follow the following policies:

  • You need to supply your real given name and last name. Impersonating anybody or anything is prohibited.

  • You are not enabled to create multiple accounts that exist entirely for the use of Facebook Platform applications.

  • It is an infraction of Facebook policy to preserve more than one account on the site.

  • Profiles (timelines) developed to represent celebrities, pets, ideas, or inanimate items are strictly prohibited.

  • Profiles (timelines) created for the purpose of spamming or bugging others are strictly forbidden.

People on Facebook desire to engage with their genuine buddies and individuals they understand in the real world. Because fake accounts can harm the integrity of this environment, they are not permitted to remain on the site.

It appears that lastly Facebook are actially starting to implement their policy about multiple accounts and phony profile names. The problem is-- my name Di Coke is real, and I only have one Facebook account! And it's not the abbreviation that's the problem, as their policy states: Labels can be used as a first or middle name if they're a variation of your genuine first or last name (like Bob instead of Robert).

So exactly what happened? Well, I think it's one of two things-- either someone has actually reported my account as being phony, or Facebook are having a clampdown on using brand name names. In either case, I deserved a warning initially, prior to they disabled my account and took down my SuperLucky fan page. In addition to that, I cannot access the 4 pages I'm an Administrator on-- and nobody is able to call me via Facebook. As a Blogger and Social Media Manager, this is a significant blow. It's been three hours since they disabled my account and I hope this is sorted ASAP. Up until then, if you have to, you can call me by means of Twitter or email.

And to those of you reading this who have 2 Facebook accounts or utilize comping labels-- take this as a warning! If your account gets disabled you'll have to upload ID revealing your genuine name to reactivate it, and I don't think many of you have passports with the name 'Lucky MSE Turnips' on do you?!
