Giphy, a brand-new start-up from tech studio Betaworks, just made it dead simple to embed GIFs directly onto your Facebook Timeline, Facebook Upload Gif.
If you desire to share a GIF on Facebook, first head on over to Giphy.
Giphy enables you to browse through all the GIFs that creators have submitted to the site. When you find a GIF you want to share, click the Facebook icon listed below the animation.
A basic Facebook share box will turn up. From there, you can choose if you desire to share it on your Timeline, a pal's timeline, in a group, or in a personal message.
I chose to share it on my Timeline. Click the play icon to see the GIF.
For several years Facebook has shied away from allowing animated GIFs in news feeds saying it would be "too disorderly". Just recently however, this choice was reversed and you can finally begin posting animated GIFs to your feeds.
Generally when publishing images to Facebook, you would click "Photo/video", and after that select among the many alternatives for submitting pictures (such as the very first choice, "Upload Photos/Video"):.
This works terrific for routine pictures and images, however if you attempt to submit an animated GIF by doing this, you will find that Facebook takes the "animated" from animated GIF.
Instead, you need to click the "Status tab", and paste the URL of the animated GIF into the status message. This is the exact same mechanism used for developing a link post.
Optionally, you can then delete the URL from the status box if you do not desire it to be published with your GIF.
It's much easier in Postradamus.
