Facebook can send you notices through email or text for nearly every possible interaction on its website. The notices can inform you if you have actually got a new message, were discussed in a post, tagged in a picture or comments on your wall; to name a few things. You'll also see these interactions when you log in to Facebook. If you want to get rid of specific notifications, you can pull out by editing your alert settings. On the Mobile App (Android).
